Laura has had a joyful, positive influence on Living Water’s ministry as one of our sopranos. Laughter pervades her life, and spreads to others quickly. She’s a great person to have around, and is a terrific friend.
“Dance For Joy” contains a context-related clue. During the summer of 1989, Living Water performed Dennis & Nan Allen’s “Live It To The Max!” in which Laura sang a duet with Aaron Feil. It went nicely – so nicely, in fact, that Laura did a bit of a dance on her way offstage after singing.
There also is a bit of “personality capture” in the music. Laura is the type of person who can dance her way through life. Weston Noble, who constantly says that “all music must dance,” would have loved to have her in one of his choirs at Luther College.
We need to dance with the flowers, the hills, and the trees,
We need to dance with the whitecaps that crest on the seas,
We need to dance for the glory of God, whom we please,
We need to dance for joy – dance for joy!
We need to dance with the hummingbird, eagle, and dove,
We need to dance with the planets and stars up above,
We need to dance for the glory of God, whom we love,
We need to dance for joy – dance for joy!
The triumph is the Lord’s alone,
The power through history,
Creation shouts that He has overcome
and gained the victory!
Forever Jesus is the Conqueror,
The Lord of all the lands,
The Owner of the skies and shore,
And we will sing and dance!
