LWCP – Well-Established
Although there were “only” five songs in the fifth volume of the Living Water Composition Project, it was interesting because they covered such a wide style range. The LWCP songs appear to be remarkable in their stylistic latitude, but the new entries this year stretched the envelope even farther. For instance, “Sojourner’s Hope” finished with a fugue written in Baroque style.
I continue to be surprised by the way in which the members of Living Water embrace their songs. As of June 1994, thirty-eight of fifty-two LWCP songs had been performed, and a number of them, such as “The Lord Will Give Me Wings”, “The Big Picture”, “Ghosts Of The Past”, “He Is Always Near”, “Bright Eyes”, and “Psalm 9:2” had been shared more than once.
The enthusiasm that Living Water demonstrates as they sing is a tremendous encouragement to me as I lead them, and it’s an additional reward that they perceive the ministry God has given me to do with them as something worthwhile in eternity’s eyes. To those of you who read this (and to everyone else who has ministered with us too): Thank you so much for your friendship and desire to honor the Lord. You all are very precious to me, and I’m honored to have the privilege of serving with you. I love you all!
