The God of Abraham Praise is a Hebrew hymn from before the 18th century. The lyrics offer a glorious picture of what it’s like to worship God where He is, and draw us to bow before Him in humility.
The God of Abraham praise, / Who reigns enthroned above;
Ancient of everlasting days / And God of love.
Jehovah, great I Am! / By earth and heaven confessed;
I bow and bless the sacred name / Forever blest.
He by himself has sworn; / I on his oath depend.
I shall, on eagle wings up borne, / To heaven ascend.
I shall behold his face; / I shall his power adore
And sing the wonders of his grace / Forever more.
The goodly land I see, / With peace and plenty blest;
A land of sacred liberty / And endless rest.
There mild and honey flow, / And oil and wine abound,
And trees of life forever grow / With mercy crowned.
There dwells the Lord our king, / The Lord our righteousness,
Triumphant over the world and sin, / The Prince of Peace.
On Zion’s sacred height / His kingdom he maintains
And glorious with his saints in light / Forever reigns.
The whole triumphant host / Give thanks to God on high.
“Hail, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!” / They ever cry.
Hail, Abraham’s God and mine! / I join the heavenly lays:
All might and majesty are thine / And endless praise!

Hello,
I just purchased “The God of Abraham Praise” for 16 bells.
I would like to know how to notate the copyright info in the church bulletin – © date, publisher, etc.
How do you prefer this is written?
Thank you,
Janet Aldinger

Hi Janet,
Thank you for asking! It should be fine to use something like this for The God of Abraham Praise:

If you need to show that you have permission for performance or posting to social media, you can add that as well, perhaps as “Used by permission” as a bit of text of [that particular part of] your video.
Happy Ringing – and thank you!
