Sevivon Sov Sov Sov – Twelve handbells

Hanukkah is the Jewish “Festival of Lights”. It commemorates the dedication of the rebuilding of Solomon’s temple in Jerusalem. In particular, the candles of the menorah remember the miracle where a consecrated jar containing one day’s worth of oil was touched by God and provided enough for eight days of light in the temple.

Sevivon Sov Sov Sov is known as “the other dreidel song”. There are two similar sets of lyrics in use which refer to “here” (when sung in Israel) or “there” (when sung everywhere else).

English:
Dreidel, spin, spin, spin
Chanukah is a great holiday.
Chanukah is a great holiday.
Dreidel, spin, spin, spin.

Spin, please, spin like this and that.
A great miracle happened here
A great miracle happened here
Spin, please, spin like this and that.

Hebrew:
סֵבִיבוֹן סב סב סב
חנכּה הוא חג טוב
חנכּה הוא חג טוב
סֵבִיבוֹן סב סב סב

סב נא סב כה וכה
נס גדול היה פה

סב נא סב כה וכה
