The Dreidel Song – Twelve handbells

Hanukkah is the Jewish “Festival of Lights”. It commemorates the dedication of the rebuilding of Solomon’s temple in Jerusalem. In particular, the candles of the menorah remember the miracle where a consecrated jar containing one day’s worth of oil was touched by God and provided enough for eight days of light in the temple.

The Dreidel Song is a song about a top or spinner that’s used to play several different Hanukkah games. I remember learning this one (yes, in English…) years and years ago during grade school.

I have a little dreidel, I made it out of clay
And when it’s dry and ready, oh dreidel, I shall play.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, I made it out of clay.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, then dreidel I shall play.
