Men’s Quartet score: $20.00 US
Accompaniment track: $10.00 US

Short and simple: Doumer Liu, our bass, once commented that there wasn’t much men’s quartet music with solos for the lowest part. So I wrote him one.

“Access” tells of the Old Testament times when the children of Israel were denied direct access (and Internet access…) to God; the only person allowed into the Holy of Holies was the high priest, and he was permitted this privilege only once a year.

This all changed, however, when Jesus paid for our sins by dying on the cross at Calvary. The Bible tells us that the veil of the temple which blocked access to the holy place was torn from top to bottom (significance: this indicates that God did the tearing), and that men were to be granted access into God’s presence through faith in Christ. See Romans 5 for a more detailed description!

We have access by faith to the glory of the Lord
If we’ve trusted in Jesus, if we’ve believed His Word,
For the veil is rent asunder and the mercy seat we see,
We have access by faith to God.

In the wilderness the Lord had proved He’s the God who cannot fail,
But He was hidden from our eyes by the tabernacle veil,
And the way into His presence was for the high priest alone,
And with sacrifice and confession he for sins did atone.

Jesus came to give His life as the keystone in God’s plan,
To be crucified with thieves, the last sacrificial Lamb,
And when He cried “It’s finished,” the veil was rent in twain,
And the way in-to the Holiest was for all free and plain.
